How it came about
I wanted a clearer route from deciding to exercise to knowing what to do next. A programme can be well organised on paper and still be awkward to use in the middle of a session, particularly when strength work and yoga live in different places.
The Health ChatGPT site and Workout Weeks native app explore a more direct flow: see the session, follow the exercises and record what happened. Guided demonstrations and progression sit alongside the log rather than requiring a separate set of notes.
The difficult part
The difficult part is making recording useful without letting it dominate the activity. During a workout, the interface needs to be clear at a glance. Afterwards, the record needs enough context to make sense when I come back to it.
Saving progress is part of that same flow. A session may be interrupted, or a note may need correcting afterwards. I have had to think about drafts, saved entries and returning to a session, so that keeping the record does not depend on completing everything in one uninterrupted visit.
What I learnt
I have learnt to start with the next action: what does the person need to see, do or record at this moment? That question is more useful than adding another chart simply because the data exists.
That has helped me keep the purpose clear: make the session easier to follow and the record easier to maintain. I want the interface to support the activity, with enough detail to be useful when I return to it, without making logging feel like the main event.
